Welcome to Brandeis University's homepage for 19th Century Russian Literature (RECS 130A).  The world wide web is rapidly evolving into a valuable resource for students and scholars of all fields.  This class will be utilizing the web both as a source of additional information on the authors and works we will be studying, and to extend classroom discussion by granting students the latitude to exchange ideas, information, and insights outside of the restrictions of our limited weekly class time.  These discussions, so far as they deal with topics of Russian literature, can be as free ranging and discursive as you see fit.  From time to time, I will post a comment or question to the site as a jumping-off point for further discussion, or to comment on a discussion already underway.  All comments on the message board must be signed by a member of this class.  Students are encouraged to e-mail me directly with any questions they encounter about the class, the website, or Russian literature in general.  Our site's creator and pagemaster is Harry Siegel, who encourages you to e-mail him with any feedback you may have about the site, which is always open for improvement.  When new resources become available, they will be immediately added to the site.  Finally, If you quote any electronic sources in your papers, please employ the mla style in citing them.
