Sharon Feiman-Nemser
Sharon Feiman-Nemser is the Mandel Professor of Jewish Education and director of the Mandel Center for Studies in Jewish Education. A leading expert in teacher education and learning to teach, she pioneered research on teacher learning and has done seminal studies of mentoring and new teacher induction.
She is currently working on a book about context-specific, mission driven teacher education based on a study of beginning teachers in Jewish, Catholic and urban public schools. Her latest book, Teachers as Learners, was published in 2012 by Harvard Education Press.
Feiman-Nemser brought her expertise in teaching and teacher education to bear on the design of the DeLeT Program, a concentration in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program which prepares teachers for Jewish day schools.
