Gary Lander of Chattanooga, Tenn., writes, “I tried to retire at the end of this year, but my law firm (Chambliss, Bahner & Stephel) would not let me. I hope to spend more time studying cantillation of the Hebrew scriptures.”

Sarah Rosen-Webb of London earned a doctorate in education from the University of Lincoln. Her thesis, “SENCO Identity and Roles: Nobody Tells You How to Be a SENCO,” focused on the development and implementation of structures and personnel for the management of special-educational needs in mainstream education in England from 1981 until today. Congratulations to Pam Ritterman Rosenthal. Her novel “The Edge of Impropriety” was awarded a 2009 RITA Award (Romance Writers of America’s Oscar) in the Best Historical Romance category. She and her husband, Michael Rosenthal ’68, also report that their son Jesse earned a Ph.D. from Columbia University (Department of English, of course).
