IRB Training

Training is an important part of our Human Subjects in Research program at Brandeis

Online Training

We are pleased to offer a convenient, customized online training program through the University of Miami's Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) and also through the NIH. Many institutions across the country use these tools for training participants in their Human Subjects in Research program.

Brandeis University requires all student (undergraduate, graduate, post-doc) investigators to complete the human subjects training through the CITI Program before their IRB applications will be reviewed. See IRB Guidelines, Policies, and Regulations for more information.

HIPAA Training and Awareness

Many researchers at Brandeis conduct research involving health information. The HIPAA Privacy Rule protects the privacy of protected health information (PHI) that is used in human research.

You can view video of a recent presentation given by leading HIPAA expert, Mark Barnes at the University on IRB practices with regard to HIPAA here.
