Update on Task Force on Academic Administrative Structure

Dear Brandeis Faculty and Staff:
Back in March, I convened a Task Force on Academic Administrative Structure to review the role of the provost and to determine an appropriate structure for the academic administration.
This group of faculty and staff worked diligently to address its charge, for which I am exceedingly grateful. The Task Force was chaired by Harleen Singh and Charles Golden, and included Jody Hoffer Gittell, David Katz, Bulbul Chakraborty, Jonathan Decter, Aida Yuen Wong, Stephen Cecchetti, Sacha Nelson, Isaac Krauss, Christine Barone, Jeffrey Lenowitz, and Lee Bitsóí.
The Task Force submitted its final report to my office, which includes seven specific recommendations that my administration will evaluate in the coming weeks. We will provide updates to the Brandeis community after we have had the opportunity to consider how the recommendations we accept will be implemented and on what timeline.
In the meantime, I wish you all a restorative summer.
