Habitat For Humanity
The Brandeis campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity educates the general public about affordable housing issues and serves as an advocate for the people affected by these issues. Members assist local affiliates in building homes and raising funds in support of Habitat’s mission to eliminate homelessness worldwide. Volunteers do not need to have any previous experience with building.
Population Served: Habitat affiliates in the Northeast and Habitat homeowners
Community Partners: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Boston and other Habitat affiliates and community non-profits seeking assistance
*Habitat also accepts requests for local beautification projects.
Transportation: Brandeis volunteers are brought to the organization by Waltham Group vans.
How to Participate: Organizations looking for our Habitat chapter to come volunteer and Brandeis students looking to volunteer, e-mail the program coordinators at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Volunteer Time Commitment: Volunteers determine their commitment individually. Build volunteers are required to also help with fundraising events and attend pre-build orientation meetings.
