Junior Brandeis Achievers
Junior Brandeis Achievers (J.B.A.) provides free afterschool programming for Stanley Elementary School and Plympton Elementary School students at the schools one day each week. Every semester a variety of clubs are led by Brandeis volunteers, which children sign up for according to their interests. These clubs actively engage Stanley and Plympton students in activities such as sports, writing, art, dance and science.
Population Served: Stanley (K-5) and Plympton (3-5) elementary school students
Community Partners: Stanley Elementary School and Plympton Elementary School
Transportation: Brandeis students walk if going to Stanley as it is next to Brandeis, and the Waltham Group vans take students to Plympton.
How to Participate:

School Administration and Brandeis Students E-mail the program coordinators at JuniorBrandeisAchievers@gmail.com
Volunteer Time Commitment: Every Tuesday from 2:30 to 4:50 p.m. or every Wednesday from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. is required. In addition, volunteers need to set aside 30 to 60 minutes every week to meet with their other group members to design lesson plans.
JBA is perfect for anyone thinking about teaching or who loves kids and wants to teach them by creating and implementing fun and creative lesson plans in a classroom setting. JBA is also great for the Clubs-in-Service initiative. We would love to partner with clubs who are willing to help create and provide volunteers for a semester-long program.
