Undergraduate Departmental Representatives

Undergraduate departmental representatives serve as a resource and representative for fellow majors and minors and potential majors and minors, and brings student concerns and/or ideas to the program faculty. They also provide feedback to the program chair, undergraduate advising head, and faculty regarding scheduling problems, course offerings, etc. and help organize events for majors, minors and other interested students.

Alicia Wu (she/her) is a senior who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a Creative Writing, English, and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Studies triple major with a minor in Classical Studies. Alicia is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Brandeis Asian American Students Association’s (BAASA) BIPOC literary and arts magazine, Connections, as well as the Fiction Editor of Laurel Moon, another undergraduate literary magazine based at Brandeis. She studied abroad in Italy during summer 2023 in an art and art history focused program called Brandeis in Siena, and in Bath during summer 2024 in an English focused program called Advanced Studies in England.

Alicia became the first AAPI major at Brandeis through the Independent Interdisciplinary Major (IIM) program, and she is open to answering questions and chatting about anything mentioned above, from the AAPI program and minor to literary publications on campus to studying abroad during summers!
