America and Its Jews at 250

September 4 - December 8, 2025

6 pm Eastern | On Zoom

This special lecture series and study group, led by Brandeis faculty and guest lecturers, explores how Jews have understood America as a refuge, republic, covenant, marketplace, battleground, and moral project—and how Jews have shaped American law, religion, education, politics, gender norms, and global Jewish life.

At the same time as Brandeis undergraduates are taking this course in the classroom, BNC members are invited to participate in their own study group online.

Speakers include Brandeis faculty from across the university including University Professor Jonathan D. Sarna. The BNC online discussion group will be facilitated by Dr. Dalia Wassner, director of Jews of the Americas, an initiative of the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies at Brandeis University.

Registration will open in August.
