The goal of Hospital Helpers is to help connect Brandeis students with health-related volunteer opportunities in order to minimize health care disparities within the Greater Boston Community. Students will volunteer with CareOne, a skilled nursing facility in Newton. Students will support residents at CareOne and will work improve the patient experience by planning activities and interacting directly with patients. Students will also volunteer with Healthy Waltham, a local nonprofit, to improve food access to underserved populations in Waltham. Additionally, Hospital Helpers will organize regular one-time volunteer opportunities with various other healthcare nonprofits in the Boston area. As Hospital Helpers grows, we hope to offer more volunteer opportunities at hospitals and medical clinics. Finally, Hospital Helpers will serve as a resource for all Brandeis students looking to volunteer independently in the field of healthcare, helping students find and choose volunteer opportunities that are right for them.
