Language and Cultural Enrichment (LaCE) is a tutoring and mentoring program that pairs Brandeis students with English Language Learners (ELL) from the middle schools in Waltham in order to build the ELL students’ confidence in speaking English.
Program Details

Population Served: Kennedy Middle School and McDevitt Middle School students in grades 6-8 enrolled in the ELL Program

Community Partners: Kennedy Middle School ELL teachers and students

Transportation: After school on Thursdays, a bus supervised by Brandeis students picks up students at Kennedy and McDevitt and brings them to the Brandeis campus. At the end of the program the bus brings the students to various drop-off locations in Waltham.

Volunteer Time Commitment: Two (2) hours per week on Thursdays from 3–5 p.m.
