Intersession (Nov. 20-Jan. 15)
Student life at Brandeis between Nov. 20, 2020 and Jan. 15, 2021
Protecting the health of Brandeis’ students, faculty and staff during the ongoing pandemic remains our top priority. To accomplish this, Brandeis has made the decision to “de-densify” — or reduce the number of people on campus — between November 20, 2020 and the start of the new semester on February 1, 2021.
Following the Thanksgiving holiday students will remain home, with all classes moving to remote learning. Students may not reside on campus without written permission from the Dean of Students.
During this inter-session period, many of the university’s departments also operate with reduced hours and level of services. This site outlines those changes and provides ways to seek out additional information.
Thanksgiving Break/End of Semester (Nov. 20–Dec. 19)
Students are encouraged to make plans to move out by Friday, Nov. 20. The campus will officially close to students who have not received permission to stay on Nov. 23. Please take all important personal belongings with you, including anything needed for classes and exams, travel documents (passports and plane/train tickets), wallets, identification cards, and any valuables. You will not be allowed back to your dorm room after Nov. 23. When you leave, be sure to check out through the Campus Passport to avoid continuing to receive testing reminders over the intersession.
Following Thanksgiving, all classes and exams will be conducted remotely.
Students Residing on Campus or Nearby (Nov. 20, 2020–Jan. 26, 2021)
IMPORTANT: Students are not allowed to reside on campus during the intersession period without written permission from the Department of Community Living.
