Discrimination and Harassment
Brandeis University is committed to maintaining a respectful learning and working environment for its faculty, staff, and students, free from unlawful discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment. Brandeis prohibits unlawful discrimination and harassment, and also prohibits retaliation against those who report instances of discrimination or harassment. The University has procedures in place that are designed to provide prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging unlawful discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment.
Staff and faculty members are encouraged to report any discrimination or harassment concerns, or other concerns about workplace behavior, to any member of the Office of Human Resources at 6-4474 (781-736-4474).
Undergraduate students should contact the Department of Student Rights and Community Standards at 6-5070 (781-736-5070) with any concerns or questions about harassment, discrimination or any conduct by others on campus that is troubling to them. Graduate students should contact the Office of Graduate Student Affairs at 6-3546 (781-736-3546).
ACE Travel Assistance Program
The Travel Assistance Program by ACE USA offers medical, personal and emergency travel and security assistance and services around the world to faculty, staff, graduate students and post docs who are traveling on Brandeis University business.
Review the ACE’s Travel Assistance Program brochure and ACE’s Travel & Health Assistance Travel Assistance FAQ if you are traveling domestically or internationally. This brochure contains important and helpful information. Please print and carry the card provided in the brochure with you at all times while traveling.
Students that are participating in the Study Abroad Program should carefully read the materials provided by the Office of Study Abroad. You need to check with your health insurance carrier to makes sure that coverage extends to traveling abroad.
Employee Assistance Program
Faculty and staff may also contact the Brandeis Employee Assistance Program for free, confidential legal, family and financial counseling through The Wellness Corporation at 800-828-6025 or 800-842-2780.
Confidential Complaint Hotline
Brandeis community members are encouraged to share their concerns by contacting the resources described on this page. They may also make confidential or anonymous complaints about possible misconduct on the campus by calling the University's confidential complaint hotline at 6-4452 (781-736-4452). This 24-hour hotline has been configured so that phone numbers for incoming calls are not retained by the system.
