ELP Services for the School of Business and Economics

The Communication and Language Skills Program is a collaboration between English Language Programs and the School of Business and Economics. The program offers language support for all students through a series of workshops, individual tutorials, language coaching sessions and collaborations with School of Business and Economics faculty and staff.

Please email Angela Tribus or see below for further information.

The focus of ELP’s work is on the linguistic and cultural elements students must understand in order to communicate effectively in an academic and business environment. While the work of ELP is often important for international students, effective communication is a challenge that all students face, so ELP is delighted to offer services to domestic and international students alike.

Through this program, students develop their abilities in the following areas:

  • Academic language skills necessary to succeed in their courses.
  • Professional language for job search, networking and interviews.
  • Business communication proficiency, both oral and written, as expected by international corporations.
  • Intercultural communication skills based in a social and cultural understanding of US American business practices and students’ own languages and backgrounds.
