Student will have their first engagement opportunities with faculty during Orientation through our faculty panels and academic fair. These opportunities will continue throughout the academic year, in both small and large scale settings. Some examples of these programs have included discussions over coffee with faculty, panels on working through academic challenges and an event highlighting the courses/departments that are considered hidden gems on campus.
On the first Thursday of each month, we host events that include a variety of activities such as pottery painting, carnivals, mega-trivia nights, paint and sip and more! These programs are sponsored by the Department of Student Engagement and the Department of Orientation and FYE.
Hosted twice a year, this event allows students to connect with staff from COMPACT and learn about opportunities to get involved in a low-key environment with free food! The event is a collaboration between
COMPACT and the Department of Orientation and FYE.
This annual event provides the opportunity for first year and transfer students to meet their personal librarian and enjoy some fall treats! Your personal librarian can answer your library questions, help with research, let you know what’s going on in the library, and connect you with resources.
Hosted by
Academic Services and the
Roosevelt Fellows, these workshops help you to prepare for upcoming course registration. The Roosevelt Fellow peer advisors are on hand to share course advice, feedback, and resources as you create a plan for your upcoming semester’s schedule.
