Economic Analysis and Consulting

The MA program concentration in Economic Analysis and Consulting gives students a firm understanding of how business decisions are made in corporations, governments and financial institutions, as well as how those decisions are impacted by government policies within the context of a global economy.

Careers in Business Economics

Students in this concentration will develop knowledge of microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade and finance to pursue careers in financial and economic consulting, banking, asset management, and multilateral organizations. Common employers for graduates who earn this concentration include consulting firms, corporations, financial institutions and government agencies.

Faculty Spotlight: Carol Osler

Professor Carol Osler teaches Trading and Exchanges, drawing on her expertise in financial markets, and Applied International Macroeconomics, which builds on her experience as a practicing economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Her research focuses on the microeconomics of financial markets with a special focus on the foreign exchange market. Osler holds an MA from Swarthmore and a PhD from Princeton.

Concentration Requirements

The MA concentration in Economic Analysis and Consulting requires the completion of 16 credits across the groups listed below.
