Brandeis-Wellesley Orchestra
The Brandeis-Wellesley Orchestra's 20th Anniversary concert
Directed by Neal Hampton, and comprising students, faculty, and staff of Brandeis University, Wellesley College, and Babson and Olin Colleges, the Brandeis-Wellesley Orchestra (BWO) is dedicated to bringing inspiring performances of the great orchestral literature, both past and present, to a new generation of musicians and audiences.
Programs have featured works by Beach, Copland, Dvorak, Elgar, Haydn, Mahler, Mozart, Shostakovich, William Grant Still, Stravinsky and Tchaikovsky, among others. Highlights include a performance with internationally renown jazz pianist Marcus Roberts, and concerts of large-scale works such as Brahms' German Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and Mahler's 2nd Symphony (the latter in collaboration with the Tufts University Orchestra, and the combined choirs of Brandeis, Tufts and MIT).
