Conference and Research Funding

Current graduate students in music are eligible for up to $350 per academic year from the department to support research related costs, including travel and accommodations for conferences, premieres, archival visits and fieldwork.

Students must be actively enrolled in the university and in good academic standing. Funds are not available to students on leave or to students on academic advising alert. Students who are on time-to-degree extensions are not eligible. Examples of possible expenses include travel to present at a conference, travel to a premiere of your music or travel for fieldwork. Please note that awards are paid in the form of a fellowship stipend, which is a type of taxable income.
