A New Academic Model
Where Liberal Arts and Professional Programs Come Together
Brandeis has reimagined its academic model, creating four new schools that integrate its distinguished professional programs with the university’s renowned liberal arts disciplines and its tradition of cutting-edge research. This bold realignment is the first of its kind, combining theoretical learning with practical application, ensuring that undergraduates gain both depth of knowledge and hands-on preparation, while professional programs are enriched by the breadth and perspective of the liberal arts. Together, this model reflects how the world is changing and prepares students to enact change creatively and confidently.
Four Schools, Infinite Possibilities
- School of Arts, Humanities and Culture — Explore how humans express and interpret the world through language, literature, philosophy, the arts and culture.
- School of Business and Economics — Gain the analytical rigor and ethical perspective to lead in business, finance, policy and entrepreneurship.
- School of Science, Engineering and Technology — Tackle urgent challenges in health, sustainability and AI through interdisciplinary research and discovery.
- School of Social Sciences and Social Policy — Connect research and policy to address inequity, governance, public health and social justice — building on the strengths of the renowned Heller School for Social Policy and Management.
Together, these schools create an academic experience that’s flexible, connected and designed for the world beyond Brandeis. By blending liberal arts and professional study, Brandeis is redefining what higher education can be — and how students prepare to meet the future.
A Bold Realignment

Reshaping the academic enterprise will prepare Brandeis students to apply the liberal arts to better activate their learning and be career ready.
