The Museum will respond to all correspondence within five business days upon arrival. If the Museum is not able to determine, within the specified time frame, that the Museum is permitted to use the work(s) in question, the Museum will cease providing access to the work until or unless it can determine that such uses are permitted. Depending on these determinations, the Museum may restrict access to the work(s) in question or remove them from its systems.
Rights and Reproduction
The Rose offers a large number of images of the permanent collection for reproduction. These images may be available in digital format or as transparencies. Please plan ahead when requesting images. Typical processing of requests takes two to three weeks. Rush requests will be considered individually and may require additional fees. Unauthorized use of images of works of art in the Rose Art Museum collection is prohibited.
Please contact the museum registrar to submit your request.
It is the user's responsibility to obtain necessary permissions and pay required fees for the use of copyrighted material. Users are held fully responsible for any copyright infringement. Copyright protects artwork such as videos, recorded performances, sculptures, photographs, paintings, and works on paper. In most cases, the person granted rights by the Rose Art Museum still must secure non-exclusive license to reproduce from copyright holder as well. Responsibility for researching outside copyrights falls to licensee.
Permission is granted for non-exclusive one time usage. Additional languages and subsequent editions will be considered upon application.
Images may not be cropped, manipulated, overprinted, airbrushed, printed in colored ink or altered in any form without permission from the Rose Art Museum and the copyright holder. A sample layout should accompany a request for an exception.
All published images must be identified by the title and date of the work of art, artist, and credit line. Reproduction must be accompanied by the credit line supplied by the Rose Art Museum. The credit line must appear with the image on the same or facing page.
All reproduction materials remain property of the Rose Art Museum and are to be returned within six months.
Please refer to the conditions for permission listed on page two of the Permission to Reproduce form for additional information.
