This spring, take a behind-the-scenes look at our exhibition in the making "re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum." The Rose team welcomes you to join us online for lively conversations about the art, concepts and visual dialogues highlighted in this expansive exhibition.

Celebrating the Rose's 60th anniversary, "re: collections" will bring together artworks acquired over the last six decades. In the months leading up to the exhibition's May opening, select works featured in the show will be on view on the art shelves, easels, display tables and carts in the museum's Mildred S. Lee Gallery. We invite the Brandeis University campus community to make advance reservations to visit the museum and to enjoy the intimacy of spending time with these artworks "off the wall" prior to their installation in the museum's galleries.

Though in-person visits to the museum remain restricted to our on-campus audience, all are welcome to join special guests and members of the Rose's curatorial team online for bimonthly conversations about these featured groupings. Artworks in the Lee Gallery will be refreshed every two weeks, with each rotation accompanied by a lively Zoom discussion to explore connections sparked by the diverse works on display. "re: collections" aims to push back against art history's rehearsed narratives and traditional categorizations, by exploring alternative ways of seeing and thinking about modern and contemporary art. We want you to be part of these conversations as we shake things up and experience art "off the wall”" together.
