Help re-write Art History.

Date and Time:

Friday, March 10, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location:

Rose Art Museum

Help rewrite art history at the Rose Art Museum. In conjunction with the current exhibition Collection at Work, join us for the 4th annual Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon.

Art+Feminism is a group dedicated to increasing the number of women Wikipedia editors and the number and quality of pages for women artists. Following in the steps of the Ada Lovelace Day/Women in STEM events, Art+Feminism organizes around International Women's Day (March 8) in an effort to improve knowledge and recognition of women in the arts.

Anybody who's interested -- regardless of wiki editing or art historical experience -- can come lend a hand. Both Wikipedia and Art+Feminism are collaborative groups that thrive on the collected knowledge of the many, rather than the authority of the few. To that end, we want everyone to feel welcome to contribute whatever they can; names of artists who need pages; editing skills; research resources; general enthusiasm for the cause. Tables, chairs, and some computers will be provided, but we encourage participants to bring their personal laptops if possible.
