Join us for a virtual tour of Frida Kahlo: POSE, now on view at the Rose Art Museum. POSE co-curators Dr. Gannit Ankori, Henry and Lois Foster Director and Chief Curator of the Rose and Circe Henestrosa, Mexican Fashion Scholar and Curator, will lead you through the exhibition and discuss the profound and generative interplay between photography, fashion, art, and the construction of identity, emphasizing Kahlo's articulation of gender, disability, and ethnicity.

 ABOUT THE CURATORS

Circe Henestrosa is a Fashion Curator and Head of the School of Fashion at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore. She curated the exhibition Appearances Can Be Deceiving: The Dresses of Frida Kahlo (2012) at the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico. She co-curated Frida Kahlo Making Her Self Up at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. She is currently reading for her PhD at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, focusing on curation, fashion, and disability. Her publications include Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self UpFrida Kahlo and San Francisco, and Frida by Ishiuchi.

Dr. Gannit Ankori is the Henry and Lois Foster Director and Chief Curator of the Rose Art Museum and Professor of Fine Arts and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University. Her numerous books, articles, and curatorial projects on Frida Kahlo include Imaging Her Selves: Frida Kahlo's Poetics of Identity and Fragmentation (2002); Frida Kahlo: Critical Lives (2012); Frida Kahlo and San Francisco (2020), and significant museum catalog essays for Tate Modern (2005) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (2018) in London.
