re: collections Tours

Program February 10, 2024 - April 28, 2024
Saturdays and Sundays at 11:30 AM

Join the museum's student docents for a unique and insightful tour of re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum. Co-led by two Brandeis students, this 45-minute tour will highlight the artists on view whose practices challenge and dismantle long-held conventions of art and its histories to boldly reconstruct their own narratives, visual vocabularies, and art-making practices. These tours are conversational, participatory experiences, where student docents weave their perspectives and research with the each tour group's own observations, inquiries and interpretations.

Space is limited; registration is required.

Organized to commemorate the Rose's 60th anniversary, re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum displays well-known iconic pieces from the Rose’s permanent collection alongside artworks by emerging and historically underrepresented artists in order to cast a critical eye in two directions: highlighting the museum's radical roots, while showcasing its potential for future transformations.
