re: collections Tours
Join the museum's student docents for a unique and insightful tour of re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum. Co-led by two Brandeis students, this 45-minute tour will highlight the artists on view whose practices challenge and dismantle long-held conventions of art and its histories to boldly reconstruct their own narratives, visual vocabularies, and art-making practices. These tours are conversational, participatory experiences, where student docents weave their perspectives and research with the each tour group's own observations, inquiries and interpretations.
ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Organized to commemorate the Rose's 60th anniversary, re: collections, Six Decades at the Rose Art Museum displays well-known iconic pieces from the Rose’s permanent collection alongside artworks by emerging and historically underrepresented artists in order to cast a critical eye in two directions: highlighting the museum's radical roots, while showcasing its potential for future transformations.
