Summer Program

The Upward Bound Summer Program is the highlight of our program offerings. The summer program invites students to participate in a six week mini college immersive experience hosted on campus at Brandeis University. Students will have access to academic courses aimed at preparing them for what they will learn in the upcoming school year. The schedule will also include grade-specific enrichment courses, leadership workshops, and athletic team building. Students will be invited to participate in the summer program each year that they are enrolled in Upward Bound. The classes are facilitated by graduate and PhD students who are passionate about teaching and sharing new skills that our pool of students will need to strive and thrive.

Academic Year Tutoring

Tutoring and academic support is essential for Upward Bound students. During the academic year, Upward Bound provides academic tutoring to all students who need support mastering a subject, working on projects, or completing daily homework assignments. Tutoring sessions are facilitated by Brandeis undergraduate students who are mostly first generation students themselves and are passionate about uplifting and teaching high school students.

Strength-Based Advising

Upon enrollment in Upward Bound, each student will be assigned an advisor. Students keep the same advisor until graduation from the program. Our advisors work with students to help them build up their strengths and achieve their academic goals.

Mentorship

Our dedicated team of mentors provides personalized guidance and support to help students achieve their academic and personal goals. We have a diverse group of Tutor-Mentors who bring invaluable lessons and experiences that our students can learn from.

College Preparatory Programs

We offer a range of resources to help students successfully transition to college, including SAT/ACT preparation, college application assistance and financial aid application assistance.

Building Community

We foster a sense of belonging and support among our students through community-building activities, leadership workshops, career development seminars, public speaking and other events.

Field Trips and College Tours

We believe in providing students with firsthand experiences outside the classroom. Our field trips and college tours expose students to different career paths, colleges, and opportunities, helping them make informed decisions about their future.
