As part of the Executive Vice President and COO's organization, and under the direction of the V.P. for Budget and Planning, the Office of Budget and Planning oversees the budgets of Brandeis University. Its responsibilities include:

Facilitating the Integrated Planning committee objectives and activities, and managing the long-range financial plan.

Preparing university operating and capital budgets, including salaries and wages, fringe benefits, and operating expenses, and including the budgets for the schools, centers and institutes.

Reviewing and approving departmental budgets and loading them into PeopleSoft;

Developing and maintaining budget policies and procedures to meet the University's overall budget goals and objectives;

Monitoring tuition, fees and financial aid by school;

Overseeing budget utilization of schools including gift, endowment, discretionary and plant funds;

Reviewing and clearing budget checking errors;

Designing and running budget and expense reports;
-
Providing budget related technical assistance and training;
-
Developing and managing the business systems that support all budget operations;
-
Conducting appropriate budget and planning research.
