About DeisBikes
'DeisBikes is the bicycle sharing program of Brandeis University. Our mission is to promote bicycling as desirable means of transportation, in a greater effort to strengthen a culture of sustainability on campus.
Currently, ‘DeisBikes is the only alternative means of transportation on campus. The BranVan, campus shuttles, and personal cars are all modes of transportation for travel around campus and Waltham, but they emit carbon dioxide and other harmful pollutants that damage the environment. By loaning high-quality bikes to the Brandeis undergraduate community, ‘DeisBikes provides a convenient way to get to class, encourages off-campus exploration, and promotes a healthy body and environment.
'DeisBikes is sponsored by the Brandeis Student Union, Greening the Campus and Community class, Department of Student Activities, and Campus Sustainability Initiative.
