Current Project

While at the WSRC, Anne will produce, perform and lead the creation of a new play inspired by the writing of Etty Hillesum, a young Dutch woman of 27, who kept a remarkable diary during the Nazi occupation of Holland. Despite her circumstances, Etty focuses on the transformation of herself into a truly liberated person.

Biography

Anne Gottlieb works in professional theatre as an actor, director, teacher, producer and creator of collaborative work.

Most recently, she appeared in the Independent Reviewers of New England award-winning production of The Women (Speakeasy Stage), Silence (New Repertory Theater), The Heidi Chronicles and Dinner with Friends (Gloucester Stage), As You Like It, and The Comedy of Errors (Shakespeare & Company) and has appeared in numerous productions in Boston and professional tours to New York, France, and Moscow.  For her performances in Betrayal (The Nora Theatre) and in Antony and Cleopatra (Boston Theatre Works), she received the 2003 IRNE Award.

She served as an Artist-in-Residence at Brandeis University where she was a Junior Fellow in the Consilience Seminar 2001-2002. She has taught voice and acting at several universities and colleges throughout New England including Boston College, University of Southern Maine and University of Rhode Island. She is the Artistic Director of the newly formed FortyMagnolias Productions. Additionally, she is an executive consultant working with business leaders and non-profits in the area of leadership presence and presentation.
