Biography

Marsha Mirkin, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist. She is currently on leave from the scholars’ program and is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Lasell College. Marsha’s two major professional areas of interest are the sociopolitical contexts of psychotherapy and psychological perspectives on Biblical stories. When Marsha is not teaching or writing, she gives workshops that look at how we can apply the experiences of our Biblical foreparents to our lives today.

Prior to joining the WSRC, Marsha had a psychotherapy practice and was on the faculty of the Couples and Family Program, Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School as well as on the faculty of the Jean Baker Miller Institute, Stone Center, Wellesley College. She originally moved to Boston to help develop and direct an adolescent and family psychotherapy program at Charles River Hospital. Marsha has published five books and numerous chapters and articles. In addition to her most recent books, she is the editor of Women in Context: Toward a Feminist Reconstruction of Psychotherapy, The Social and Political Contexts of Family Therapy, and Handbook of Adolescents and Family Therapy (with Stuart Koman).
