About the Event

In Germany, concerned citizens step forward to save an ancient forest from one of Europe’s biggest coal mines. They form an unlikely alliance with a frustrated community in rural England who are forced into action to protect their homes from a new opencast coal mine. FINITE: The Climate of Change is an insider’s view of the world of direct action; a raw, authentic and emotional insight into the David and Goliath battle between front line communities, activists and fossil fuel corporations.

FINITE premiered in the UK at BAFTA-qualifying Leeds International Film Festival and is winner of the FIPADOC impact grand prix. It has also played at Aesthetica, DocEdge and DokuFest and won the Focus Future Award at the International Filmfest Emden-Norderney, best newcomer at Green Screen International Wildlife Film Festival, the Aqualbier at Cinema Planete, the best documentary and audience awards at North East International Film Festival and was a Jackson Wild finalist. FINITE has been broadcast internationally (NHK, ERR and ERT). The film has been released theatrically in Germany and the UK (Picturehouse Cinemas).
