Mathematics Placement

Placement into the introductory undergraduate courses is done via a combination of placement exams and advising.  Here is some basic information related to these courses and to the placement process.

On the registrar's website: 

  • The Placement Page on the Registrar's website; this includes descriptions of pre-Calculus, Calculus and Linear Algebra courses as well as the placement exams below
  • Math Placement Exam online, self-scored exam to determine which of the introductory courses you should take
  • Math 22a/b Placement Exam you must pass this online exam if you are interested in taking the year-long Math 22a/b sequence
