The Peacebuilding and the Arts Program will sponsor a Weekend Intensive in April. This Intensive is free to members of the Brandeis community and the Acting Together project, and open for others on a tuition basis.
Peacebuilding and the Arts: Core Concepts and Principles
Abraham Shapiro Academic Complex Atrium
Facilitated by Dr. Polly Walker and Dr. Cynthia Cohen on April 1-3. This weekend intensive is designed for students, practitioners, administrators, advocates, and policy-makers in the fields of the arts, cultural work, and conflict transformation. Participants will view the documentary, engage in discussions and activities designed to address key issues in the field, such as balancing artistic and socio-political intentions and the need to “do no harm.” They will develop designs for arts and peacebuilding initiatives that reflect the basic principles of the moral imagination and the Acting Together project.
*The Session II, originally scheduled for April 8-10 has been postponed to October 21-23, 2011. Click here for information on Session II.
