  • Responsible for the human resources function at Brandeis University, including but not limited to policies, benefit programs, compensation programs, recruiting/hiring/onboarding, HR training, labor and employee relations, operation of the HRIS system and relevant data, performance culture and well-being of employees.
  • All of the Directors in Human Resources and specific administrative staff report to the VPHR.

  • Reporting to the Vice President, the Assistant Vice President-Special Projects organizes and moves designated projects forward on behalf of OHR and other collaborating units.
  • Several of the current projects include (but are not limited to-these are examples) university responses and changes in policy and practice in alignment with the Department of Labor requirements; renewing and revitalizing our university-wide affirmation action plan and its intended meaning; recruitment for assigned key positions and working with assigned search committees; serving as overall liaison between OHR and the new Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
  • The Assistant VP-Special Projects also serves as a campus-wide resource for questions and advice regarding all aspects of HR and the OHR office.

  • The Executive Administrative role reports to and serves the needs of the Vice President HR.
  • The Executive Administrative role is also designated in an office management role as the VPHR designee for office budget management, office operations, office-wide communication process internally and with the university campus.
  • This role also serves as a resource to consult on matters being brought to OHR, whom to access, access to the VPHR and other HR resource advice.
