Class Correspondent

Steven Bizar, a shareholder and co-chair of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Litigation Section in Philadelphia, recently accepted an invitation from the dean of Columbia Law School to serve on its board of visitors for a three-year term. A 1988 graduate of the school and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, Steven was nominated by Columbia’s dean, David M. Schizer, and appointed by the president and trustees of the university. Nominees are selected for their leadership in law, business and service to the public as well as for their demonstrated commitment to the school.

Eileen Weicher Dershowitz received the 2010 Founders Day Award from Plainview–Old Bethpage Middle School in New York. The prize is a national PTA award that recognizes those “who go above and beyond for children.” Eileen has been an active PTA member for nine years, serving on and/or chairing both school and district-wide committees as well as being on multiple PTA executive boards. Her husband, Steve Dershowitz ’86, is also an active volunteer. He serves on the district’s technology committee and coaches softball.
