Why DeLeT?
DeLeT is uniquely situated as a joint endeavor of the Brandeis Education department and of the Mandel Center. As the Jewish day school concentration of the Brandeis MAT program, DeLeT is able to offer a Master of Arts in Teaching and initial licensure and access to a diverse faculty and curriculum that shares Brandeis’ commitment to social justice. Also being part of the Mandel Center offers a large number of benefits to DeLeT students, including instruction from preeminent scholars of Jewish education, a curriculum that benefits from constant and innovative research, a connection with a network of day schools across the country, and continued support for graduates in the field.
Admission is limited to 10-12 students per year. DeLeT students come from diverse professional, academic and personal backgrounds. The program is open to recent college graduates, career changers, hard-working, Jewishly motivated, and intellectually curious individuals who love children and are passionate about learning and teaching.
