Computer Purchases and Contracts
Computer Hardware
Library and Technology Services recommends several standard models for purchase and use on campus. Procurement Services works in cooperation with LTS to help maintain these standards and ensure appropriate contract pricing. The University's preferred supplier for computers is Dell. More information on Dell and Apple computer purchases can be found on the LTS website. If you need assistance in specifying a computer or would like to place an order, please contact Procurement Services at 6-4500.
Computer Software
Library and Technology Services strongly urges all members of the Brandeis community to use their Recommended software packages. LTS has purchased campus licenses for some software and has arranged for special bulk pricing for other software packages. Find out about downloading and purchasing software from via LTS. To purchase software the LTS does not support, please contact Procurement Services at 6-4500.
Computer Supplies and Peripherals
Procurement Services has selected GovConnection as the University's preferred vendor for computer supplies and peripherals. The University is able to take advantage of the contract as part of it's membership to the Massachusetts higher education buying cooperative - MHEC. GovConnection was granted this contract after going to an extensive competitive bidding process. The contract with GovConnection offers extensive discounts on the most popular supplies and standard shipping is free.
Orders with GovConnection can be made in using several methods:
1. Orders >$1500 must be made using a Brandeis University Purchase order. In order to obtain a purchase order please complete a Requisition for Supplies and Services and return it to the Office of Procurement services at MS048 or Fax 6-4503.
2. Orders <$1500 should be placed on line using a University Procurement Card. In order to do business with GovConnection and take advantage of the Univeristy's discounts, you must have an account. In order to do this please call Lisa DeLetter in Procurement services at 6-4502.
