How can I find a preferred BCBS Providers?

The Health Center can also assist you with resource listings of providers.It is helpful to have a primary care provider BEFORE you have acute health concerns. Call up the above number or go online looking for a family practice, internal medicine, or general medicine provider in the Waltham area who is accepting new patients. Call that office, state that you have BCBS and are looking for a primary care provider and would like an appointment for an annual visit even if you are feeling well. The appointment you are given may be a few months away but take and keep that appointment as it will allow you to bring your future chronic and acute health concerns to a primary care provider while you are in the Boston area. This is often less expensive than accessing urgent care and you will be able to access a broader range of preventive services. You can and should still use emergency and urgent care for issues that are immediate or a minute clinic for issues that are more minor if you do not have an establoished primary care provider in the area. The health center can provide a copy of your immunization records if requested by the primary care provider. You will simply need to fill out the medical record release and submit it to us. Please allow 2 working days for your records to be copied.
