Carmen Aguilar

Over the past 25 years, Carmen has gained broad experience in moving higher education institutions, adult education programs, community colleges, and top 20 business schools forward. Carmen is highly skilled in leading digital transformation projects, people management, strategic planning, partnership building, opportunity identification, distance education, curriculum development, and process optimization. She is passionate about delivering innovative solutions that provide greater access to learning, accurately capture data, drive efficiencies, and streamline operations. Carmen has collaborated with stakeholders, enterprise customers, global team members, and cross-functional leaders on new program initiatives and mobilizing resources to accelerate results.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Aguilar served as the Director of Information Technology Services at ITEMS-EGADE Business School in Monterrey, Mexico, and was later offered a position as the Director of Innovation Learning with their partner, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. For more than seven years, Carmen contributed to the development of many groundbreaking online education programs alongside talented team members across five top global business schools. From 2006 to 2020, Carmen held the Dean of Workforce and Community Education position at Bristol Community College. During her tenure, she forged partnerships for customized education and training, spearheaded workforce development projects, and developed lifelong learning programs.
Over the past three years, Carmen has served as the Dean of the School of Continuing Education at Providence College, cultivating strategic partnerships, delivering innovative programs to a diverse adult student population, expanding curricular strengths, leading successful distance education initiatives, and advancing the institution’s continuing education mission and strategic priorities.
Starting on August 1, 2023, Ms. Aguilar is joining Brandeis University as the Vice President of the Rabb School of Continuing Studies, bringing her wealth of experience, expertise, and passion for advancing the institution’s goals further and serving the needs of today’s learners.
