Community Partners

Thank you for considering the Department of Community Service at Brandeis as a potential partner. In the 2018-2019 academic year Brandeis students engaged in over 65,000 hours of service in our communities. We currently work with a variety of organizations in the Waltham, Greater Boston and around the world. The majority of partnerships supported by the department are student-led club based programs. All programs first and foremost respond to the needs of our partner organizations while providing leadership opportunities for our students.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a community need or a new idea. Who do I reach out to?

If you are currently working with a service club at Brandeis, you can reach out to the student coordinator of the service club. If you're not currently working with a service club at Brandeis, feel free to reach out to the Director of Community Service, Lucas Malo via email or at 781-736-3237.

Do I need to provide training for students?

It depends. All service clubs that are a part of Waltham Group are required to provide student volunteer trainings. Sometimes community partners will offer additional trainings, however, it is dependent upon what your organization thinks will be most beneficial for you. We always lean on the side of yes when possible.

I have a one time event and I’m seeking volunteers. How do I tell Brandeis?

Please fill out our Request Volunteer Support form to request assistance from Brandeis volunteers.

We ask that you fill out the form at least three weeks before the event to allow students ample time to respond. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we'll be able to support all requests.

How can I access the academic calendar?

You can access the Brandeis academic calendar on the Registrar's website.

Where is the Department of Community Service located?

If driving: you can get a single day parking pass at the information booth which is located at the center of the intersection at main the entrance.
