In this Q&A session, Kate Wahl will discuss the overall publishing process from an editor’s perspective. She will also share tips on pitfalls to avoid during the process, qualities of a good book proposal, and more. At Stanford University Press, Wahl acquires books in Middle East Studies and edits the series Stanford Studies in Comparative Race and Ethnicity. She also acquires general interest books for the press’s trade imprint, Redwood Press, and was the editor of the first novel in the imprint, “The Woman Who Read Too Much.”

Moderated by Naghmeh Sohrabi, associate director for research at the Crown Center and the Charles (Corky) Goodman Professor of Middle East History at Brandeis.
