Brandeis International Business School earns reaccreditation from AACSB

The International Business School successfully maintained accreditation for its degree programs from AACSB International.

Brandeis International Business School announced this week that it has successfully maintained accreditation for its degree programs from AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – following a review visit in November.

The accreditation covers all four of the school’s graduate programs: MBA, the Lemberg Master of Arts in International Economics and Finance (MAief), Master of Science in Finance (MSF), and PhD.  It also encompasses the MBA in Nonprofit Management offered by the Heller School for Social Policy and Management and jointly administered by the International Business School.

The university’s undergraduate Business Major, which is administered and taught by the International Business School and the College of Arts and Sciences, was also evaluated in the review for the first time, and is now included in the AACSB International accreditation. The Business Major, which was established in 2010, is a cross-disciplinary program that builds on the combined strengths of the business school and the university’s liberal arts curriculum to encourage both critical thinking and the analysis of how business works.

In order to maintain their accreditation, business programs must demonstrate that they satisfy AACSB’s expectations related to strategic management of faculty and other resources, student-faculty interaction, curriculum management, and the effective deployment of learning goals.

“The reaccreditation by AACSB International reflects the school’s academic excellence, the clarity of its vision, and the high standards that are attained by its students, faculty and staff,” said International Business School Dean Bruce Magid, the Martin and Ahuva Gross Chair in Financial Markets and Institutions. “I am extremely proud that Brandeis University has emerged over the past decade as a leader in global business education.”
