Brandeis Student Activism
Founded in 1948, Brandeis University was created with the values of inclusion, justice, and truth in mind. Since its inception, students at Brandeis have upheld these values through their activism both on and off campus. As such, student activism has always been and continues to be an important part of the student experience at Brandeis, and therefore constitutes a fundamental piece of the university’s history. This activism spans a wide number of issues and includes actions both big and small, from Anti-Vietnam War protests to a snack bar demonstration.
While this exhibit cannot detail all the protests that Brandeis students led and participated in, it showcases the spirit of activism on Brandeis campus throughout its 75 year history, and in doing so, hopes to inspire current and future students to continue this activist spirit in their fight against the country’s pressing injustices.
