About the Program
The Macromolecular Structure and Mechanism Training Program (MSM) provides specialized education in a field that spans the boundaries of the scientific disciplines of biophysics, biochemistry and structural biology.
The program does not grant any academic degrees of its own. Rather, it leverages the strengths of the existing Brandeis Biochemistry and Biophysics PhD program by bringing graduate students from this program into a curriculum that is designed to prepare students for advanced research in this field.
Any student currently studying in the Biochemistry and Biophysics PhD program is part of the Macromolecular Structure and Mechanism Training Program.
The program requires students to complete a core curriculum of four courses and three advanced electives. Students in the program also participate in research seminars and retreats designed to hone their scientific communication and other research skills.
