The Macromolecular Structure and Mechanism Program (MSM) is a training program designed for graduate students in the Brandeis Biochemistry & Biophysics PhD Program.
Understanding the molecular mechanisms by which macromolecules work is necessary for a coherent picture of living systems. The two essential components for achieving this understanding are a knowledge of macromolecular structure and the art of thinking mechanistically. The goal of the Macromolecular Structure and Mechanism Training Program is to provide the next generation of scientists with these two intellectual tools.
Students participating in the program receive specialized training in analyzing the three-dimensional structures and chemical behaviors of proteins, DNA and RNA.
