Music 111 & 112: Private Instruction
Private instrumental and private vocal lessons are taught by members of the Brandeis music faculty and members of Boston's large and talented community of professional musicians. Please see the fees for private lessons below.

Placement auditions will be held at the start of the semester. A maximum of four course credits will be allowed for all enrollments in Ensemble (MUS 80a,b ' 87a,b) alone or Private Instructions and Ensemble together. Successful completion of two semesters of MUS 112a,b may be applied only once toward the requirements for the major or minor in music. The course may be taken as a noncredit activity by registering in the XC section.
Private Instruction Fee (Mus 111, 112)
Non-music major: $900
Music major and Music graduate students: $250
Undergraduate Performance Track Majors and Leonard Bernstein Scholars: Free of charge
Fees, if applicable, will be billed to the student’s school account after registration.
Please note: students who have declared a music major may start receiving lesson subsidies after completing the first semester of Music Theory (Mus101a). Students interested in pursuing the performance track are entered into the track pending a successful audition, which usually occurs at the end of the sophomore year.
