There are opportunities for undergraduates to participate in the CoPE Lab as volunteer research assistants (RAs) and independent study and honors thesis students. Students planning to do an honors thesis should start research in the lab by their junior year. A limited number of work-study positions may also be available.

RAs can

  • Learn to run participants through cognitive tasks and administer questionnaires and IQ tests.

  • Learn how to record EEG and HRV data through our study protocol.

  • Help with data cleaning/scoring and participant scheduling tasks while learning about how our studies run.

  • Potentially develop independent projects and honors theses with our data sets.

RAs should

  • Be interested in what we study.

  • Be willing to commit to at least one year.

  • Be willing and eager to learn new skills.

  • Have good basic computer skills.

  • Have good attention to detail.

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills.
