Minor in Sexuality and Queer Studies
The undergraduate interdisciplinary minor in Sexuality and Queer Studies offers students the opportunity to examine socially and historically specific experiences, meanings and representations of sexuality and gender and the centrality of sexuality and gender to personal and collective identities in modernity.
Students in the program critically consider the relationships among sex, gender and sexual orientation, desire and identification, and erotic and affectional behavior, as these intersect with other cultural formations including gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability and class.

Triskelion (Trisk) is Brandeis' LGBTQ+ student social group. Trisk welcomes students of all genders and sexualities to all club events.
In addition to weekly club meetings, Trisk has several branches that also hold meetings:
-
TransBrandeis is a Trisk group that meets to discuss transgender issues and life on campus. Two major projects that TransBrandeis has been involved in were developing a gender-inclusive housing program and creating gender inclusive bathrooms around campus.
-
The Sex and Sexualities Symposium (SASS) is an intellectual discussion group that meets weekly in the Gender and Sexuality Center to discuss issues surrounding sexualities, gender and sex. SASS also holds an annual undergraduate sexualities research conference in April.
-
The Queer People of Color Coalition (QPOCC) interrogates issues at the convergence of gender, sexuality, and race. Considering other phenomena such as class status, nationality, and ethnicity, QPOCC strives toward an understanding of how various social, economic, and political phenomena complicate notions of race and queer identity.
The mission of the Gender and Sexuality Center (GSC) is to provide resources, positive visibility, an affirming space, and advocacy for lesbian, gay, same gender loving, bisexual, transgender, gender nonconforming, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual students, staff and faculty at Brandeis University. Through education, community building and programming for the entire university community, all are encouraged to participate in creating and maintaining an inclusive environment.
The GSC is in Usdan G105 by the steps to the Office of Study Abroad and down the hallway from the Office of Prevention Services.
The Queer Resource Center (QRC) provides confidential peer counseling with a trained staff, dorm raps and a library of books, movies and other resources.
QRC Office Hours are Monday through Thursday, 1 to 6 p.m., or by appointment and is located in the Gender and Sexuality Center in Usdan G105. The center can also be reached by phone at 678-707-8583 or by email.
