Gaining Healthcare Experience

Wednesday, October 17, 4:30pm-5:30pm, Study Abroad Conference Room, Usdan Student Center

Come learn about what opportunities exist for Brandeis students to gain healthcare experience. Our staff will go over what professional schools expect of applicants, how Brandeis can help, and what previous students have done in the area and beyond.

The Anatomy of an Applicant

Wednesday, October 31, 4:30pm-5:30pm, Study Abroad Conference Room, Usdan Student Center

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) has put forward a list of core competencies it believes every pre-medical school applicant should possess, but how do you fit it all in the time before you apply? How can you best market your experiences to reflect these competencies? We'll go over each competency and what kinds of experiences medical schools might be looking for in addressing them.   

How I Succeeded in the Sciences 

Wednesday, November 7, 5:30pm-7pm, Rosensteil 118 

Having a particularly challenging semester (or year) in a given course/sequence is a common and normal thing to experience - come hear from those who've seen the struggle and subsequent bounce back firsthand!

School Visits: 

  • SUNY College of Optometry A Senior Admissions Counselor will be hosting an information session on 11/14 2pm-3pm in the Study Abroad Conference Room.

Weekly Wednesday Workshops for First Year Students (Wednesdays at 4:30pm-5:30pm in the Study Abroad Conference Room - Usdan Student Center 169)

Pre-Health Advising is hosting weekly sessions for first year students interested in pursuing a health profession.

*Open PHA is a time for students to meet with a Pre-Health advisor and fellow students to discuss classes, planning, extracurricular opportunities, and anything else. Drop by for 5 minutes or stay for the whole hour. There will be snacks!
