Applicants who have previously received a CGES award are eligible to apply again, but first-time applicants will be given priority.

Proposals should include:

 .  e-mail address

 .  mailing address

 .  phone number

 .  a project description (1-2 pages)

 .  a detailed budget

Amounts of up to $2000 will be awarded.

The project description should clearly state how the funding will support the applicant’s ongoing research. Funds can be used for travel, accommodation, duplication of materials, and relevant book/media purchases. A detailed report (2-3 pages) about the completed research activities must be submitted to CGES no later than November 30, 2009.

Proposals should be submitted by May 10th, 2009 to the Center for German and European Studies in hardcopy to MS 058 or by e-mail to cges@brandeis.edu.  Applicants will be notified of decisions soon thereafter.

CGES will reimburse 100% of travel/research costs for all original receipts submitted. Only expenses incurred between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009 are eligible.
