Making Music from Scratch
Music making is one of humanity's great universals, and playing music in an ensemble with other people is one of life's great delights. In this workshop, you will explore different ways to organize musical interaction. We will use our voices, hands, feet, and bodies to experience basic principles of composition and improvisation and then we'll apply those principles to instruments we've created ourselves, including drums, xylophones, harps and winds. You don't need any prior musical experience to share the joys of group musicking or to feel the pride of creation when our ensembles perform for the rest of the Genesis community.
